Boll Weevils Win, 5-1, Versus London
|
The Miami Boll Weevils picked up a win at Ballpark of Oklahoma City, dropping the London Tigers, 5-1. Joe Underwood was the difference-maker. Brent Kuest, now 5-3, was credited with the win in 3 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. The Boll Weevils now have a record of 39-75.
Mike Polcyn was 1-5 for Miami. The 23-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Jose Perez. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"Joe's a gamer," said Miami manager Bill Murtha. "Glad he's on our side."
