The Vermont Milkmen picked up a win at King George Park, knocking off the Cornwall Royals, 6-5. On the mound for Vermont was right-hander Vinny Padilla. He played a key role in the triumph. Vermont reliever Jason Phillips picked up the win, raising his record to 3-3. Kelly Powell was tagged with the loss. Morgan Felty was called on to finish, recording his 12th save.

Craig Kelley was 1-5 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI for Vermont. With one out and the game tied in the top of the ninth inning, Kelley, who is tied for 10th in the W-AA in runs scored with 72, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Cornwall hurler Kelly Powell, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Milkmen a 6-5 lead.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Kelley told the Vermont Daily News. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."

The loss makes Cornwall 62-54.
