Flores Stars in 7-2 Tigers Win
|
Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Tigers beat the Bulldogs.
Hector Flores helped his team muscle past the Hamilton Bulldogs, 7-2. In the game, the London center fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Chris Casady, the winner, is now 6-5. He struck out 8 and walked 2 over 5.1 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 6 hits.
Francisco Puente took Hamilton hurler Jon Escobar deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Tigers on top, 2-0. In all, Puente had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Flores.
