Boll Weevils Knock Off Cornwall, 5-3
|
Miami Boll Weevils right-hander Carlos Mejia pitched a good game against the Cornwall Royals at King George Park, leading his team to victory, 5-3. Miami is in 4th place in the Western AA Coastal Division with a record of 54-59.
John Bole delivered a big hit for Miami. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Boll Weevils ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"It's not by accident that Carlos finds ways to get outs," said Miami skipper Bill Murtha.
