|
Riding the 4-hit performance of the 23-year old first baseman Omar Gatica, the Cincinnati Bombardiers stopped the Sonoma Scorpions, 7-1, in 9 innings. The 4th-place Bombardiers improved to 49-64.
With Cincinnati leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Hector Perez hit a run-scoring single off Sonoma pitcher Steve Oswald. It put the Bombardiers ahead 2-0.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Cincinnati manager Carlos Almendarez.
