A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Hialeah Firecats and Augusta Capitols.

The Hialeah Firecats rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Paul Lessard to a win, beating the Augusta Capitols, 6-0, at The Capitol Dome. The winning pitcher was Lessard, now 3-9. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7.

Hialeah won the game in part because of Juan Medrano. The first baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Firecats ahead, 2-0. For the game, Medrano had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

Said losing manager Joel Braddock: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."

With the win, the Firecats are 37-75.
