Pitching was the name of the game for the Sonoma Scorpions and the Cincinnati Bombardiers. Sonoma won it, 1-0, in 17 innings. Sonoma starter Jose Ceballos was in command. Reliever Steve Shewmaker picked up the win. His record improves to 2-2. Aiden Sealy took the loss. Sonoma is second in the Western AA Coastal Division with a record of 61-50.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 17th inning, when Sonoma third baseman David Lovell, facing Jim Unknown, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Scorpions the 1-0 win.

Lovell told a Sonoma News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
