Miami and Hialeah got after it at Firecats Ballpark.

Riding the 2-hit performance of the 26-year old right fielder Lance Ricke, the Miami Boll Weevils stopped the Hialeah Firecats, 4-0, in 9 innings. Mike Mudge went 7.1 innings, allowing no runs on 4 hits. The right-hander struck out 7 and walked 2. With the win, he's now 5-12 this season.

Miami used the timely hitting of Javier Tarango to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Boll Weevils ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Ricke.

At 52-61, Miami is in 4th place in the Western AA Coastal Division.
