Vermont pitcher Vicente Perez gave the Scorpions all they could handle, but in the end, Sonoma left Emeralds Ballpark with a win, 2-0. Perez allowed 2 runs on 2 hits over 6.1 innings. Earning his 24th save for Sonoma was Jason Burget. At 62-49, the Scorpions have a slim two-game lead in the Western AA Coastal Division.

Sonoma used the timely hitting of Sam Foster to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Scorpions on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Foster.
