The St. Louis Cavalry faced a tough opponent in Vail pitcher Rich Mack, but found a way to pull out the victory at Cavalry Ballpark by a final score of 4-3 in 11 innings. Mack went 7.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. The winner was Jim Unknown in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Tyler Doss took the loss. The Cavalry raised their record to 39-73.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the 11th for St. Louis. That's when Brent Hauke, who is tied for 9th in the W-AA in bases on balls with 52, hit a solo home run off Tyler Doss to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"The crowd was juiced," said Hauke.
