Spirited fans greeted the St. Louis Cavalry for their clash with the Cornwall Royals.

Starting pitcher Cody Fields had a solid game. He was a big reason the Cornwall Royals throttled the St. Louis Cavalry, 2-0. In 6.2 innings, Fields surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 4. He allowed no runs. Kevin McDonald was credited with the save, his 16th in 17 tries.

Cornwall used a well-timed hit by Felipe Marquez to capture the win. The right fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Royals ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"Runs were at a premium," said Cornwall manager Jon Williams.

The win for the Royals raised their record to 58-51.
