St. Louis turned a good effort from starter Bernie Rios into a win over the Miami Boll Weevils at Cavalry Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. St. Louis reliever Jeremiah Porter snagged the win, upping his record to 4-6. Brent Kuest shouldered the loss. St. Louis is now 41-66, while Miami is 34-73.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when St. Louis catcher Justin Solid, facing Brent Kuest, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Cavalry the 3-2 win.
In postgame comments, Rios said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
