Hialeah Upended by Hamilton, 5-4
|
Hamilton beat Hialeah at Mariachis Ballpark, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Sean Custis. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Ryan Perkins was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-3. The losing pitcher was John Wright. Kyle Murray recorded the save for Hamilton, his 12th of the season.
Custis had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-1 fastball from John Wright, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Bulldogs a 5-2 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Custis.
"Nice win for us," said Custis. "Now we'll go after the next one."
Hamilton is now 64-42, while Hialeah is 34-72.
