Marquis Now 12-3 After Beating Firecats
|
The Stockton Ragin Cajuns picked up a win at Ballpark of Stockton, knocking off the Hialeah Firecats, 9-3. Starting pitcher Chris Marquis played a key role in the triumph. The Ragin Cajuns improved their record to 66-39 with the win over Hialeah.
Marquis, a native of La Quinta, California, was dealing all game. He kept Hialeah hitters off-balance, while giving the Ragin Cajuns 7 quality innings. Marquis threw 83 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 6.
In comments to the Stockton Gazette, Marquis admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
