In a low-scoring contest, Vail pitcher Derek Sigers was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-0 win. Justin Brownlee picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Freddy Vazquez suffered the loss. The Tigercats are now 61-44.

Danny Gaskins played the role of hero for Vail. In the bottom of the ninth, he launched a 2-run home run off Freddy Vazquez to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was the decisive blow.

Gaskins described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
