Ragin Cajuns Capture Close Win

Scott Barth was locked in. The left-hander led the Stockton Ragin Cajuns to a 2-1 win against the Miami Boll Weevils at Ballpark of Stockton. The winner was Stockton reliever Jarred Gangi, now 3-6. The loser was Lee Waters. The Ragin Cajuns raised their record to 47-59.
Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 27-year old second baseman Chris Swain had a real shot to win the game. Miami pitcher Lee Waters was determined not to let it happen. But with no outs, Swain hit a run-scoring single. The Ragin Cajuns had a walk-off triumph.
Swain attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
