The Halifax Heathens topped the Oakland Invaders, 5-4, in American Conference action at Estadio Azteca. The standout performance belonged to Halifax pitcher and Bridgeport, Connecticut, native Angel Morales. Jeff Buck, credited with the save, is now 22 for 23 in save opportunities. Halifax is now 44-30, while Oakland is 36-38.

Josh Fitzgerald had a big bases-clearing double for the Heathens in the bottom of the first inning. With Halifax leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Alfredo Tiscareno, who finished 4th in the NC in ERA with 2.56 in 2012, and swatted a double to center. It was his 18th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Heathens ahead, 4-0.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Fitzgerald said.
