St. Louis Keeps Spiraling Downward
The Miami Boll Weevils downed the St. Louis Cavalry, 5-1, at Ballpark of Miami. Stellar pitching by Dan Dean had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. The Cavalry, now 34-70, have lost 11 in a row.

Devin Calloway came through for Miami with a 2-run double in the bottom of the first. The shortstop went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 4 runs batted in.

"When Dan is on, he can really move the ball around," said Miami manager Bill Murtha.
