Augusta Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Vance
Augusta first baseman Derek Vance had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Vance hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice, even as St. Louis beat the Capitols, 9-5. St. Louis goes to 41-63, Augusta to 64-40.

St. Louis used a clutch at-bat from Chris Bryan to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cavalry ahead, 7-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Bryan.
