Tigercats Down Bombardiers, 5-3
|
Vail center fielder Adam McCumiskey had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Cincinnati Bombardiers, 5-3. The win was credited to 22-year old right-handed pitcher Justin Brownlee in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Fabian Ruiz took the loss. With the win, Vail raised its record to 59-44.
McCumiskey had a game-changing home run in the top of the 17th. On a 1-1 fastball from Fabian Ruiz, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Tigercats a 5-3 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for McCumiskey.
In comments to the Vail Herald, McCumiskey admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
