The Sonoma Scorpions and Hamilton Bulldogs played an exciting game.
Terence Rodda was locked in. The right-hander led the Sonoma Scorpions to a 4-2 win against the Hamilton Bulldogs at Ballpark of North Richland Hills. Rodda got the win, improving to 3-3. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed 2 runs.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Nelson Mendoza came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Hamilton pitcher Jesus Garcia, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Sonoma on top, 4-2.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Hamilton skipper Emmanuel Montano, "and it cost us."
Sonoma improves to 57-45 with the win. They lead their division by 2 games.
