Tristan Fry was terrific for the San Francisco Fire in his team's 4-0 triumph over the Chicago Gangsters. His performance earned Fry rave reviews. The winner was Fry. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Josh Wilkes. The last-place Fire have won 5 consecutive games.

Dusty Ward dealt the Gangsters a blow in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and San Francisco leading 1-0, Ward, who is tied for 6th in the NC in runs scored with 47, hit a 2-1 cutter for a 2-run single.

"Makes our job easier," said Ward, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
