The San Diego Fleet defeated the Chicago Gangsters by the score of 6-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Carlos Miranda. Miranda went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Fleet on the day. Jesse Vecchio came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 8 hits in 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. This win makes it 8 in a row for San Diego.
Miranda had a crucial hit for San Diego with two out in the bottom of the second. With San Diego trailing 2-0, Miranda hit a bases-clearing double. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Fleet ahead, 3-2.
