Giants Claim 3-1 Win
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Detroit Giants and the Cincinnati Royals, Beau Larson, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2018 draft, proved to be the difference. The Detroit right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Giants win. Kasey Acree earned the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The last-place Giants hiked their record to 25-48.
Steve McLaughlin, who is on pace for 118 RBI this season, helped out the Detroit cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 4.
Detroit manager Blake Barber said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
