Stars Get Past Boston for 2-1 Win
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Hollywood Stars and the Boston Whistlers, Adam Arent, who is tied for 7th in the NC in quality starts with 10, proved to be the difference. The Hollywood left-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Stars win. Arent yielded 1 run over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-5. Boston's current losing streak is now 4 games.
Hollywood used a clutch hit from Eric Daniel to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Stars ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a doozy.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Daniel.
