Sea Dogs Need Extra Frames to Get Past Gladiators
The Charleston Sea Dogs faced a tough opponent in Phoenix pitcher Mike Walsh, but found a way to pull out the victory at Ballpark of Charleston by a final score of 2-1 in 10 innings. Walsh went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Shane Kidd claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 3-2. The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Charleston pinch hitter Ernesto Ramirez, facing Manny Brant, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Sea Dogs the 2-1 win.
