Desperados Lose to Crown, 3-2
|
The Carolina Crown took Austin pitcher Luke Scrimger's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Reedy River Stadium. The final score had Carolina getting past the Desperados, 3-2. Scrimger went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 9. Chase Lovett got credit for the win, improving to 4-4. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. The win has Carolina at 29-43.
Zach Williard drove in one run for Carolina. The 24-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Felipe Moreno. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
Carolina manager Kyle Caito said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
