Fountain Hills Defeated By Heathens, 4-3
|
Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Heathens beat the 23ers.
Halifax left-hander Jack Ivory pitched his team to victory over the Fountain Hills 23ers at Estadio Azteca. The final score was 4-3. Ivory yielded 3 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 8-1.
Paul Gaither drove in one run for Halifax. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Mark Luby. It was his 17th RBI of the season.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Halifax manager David Morris. "It's usually not just one thing."
Halifax leads the American Conference South Division by 6 games.
