Nightmare Jolt Desperados, 6-3, with Late Rally
The home crowd had a good time watching the Austin Desperados and New York Nightmare get after it.

New York beat Austin on the strength of starting pitcher Dustin Lewis's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. The win went to Chris Wyzard in relief. His record improves to 6-2. Brad Hower took the loss. The save went to Tony Rosario, number 4 for him.

Robby Penland drove in one run for New York. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Penland, who is a two-time All-Star, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Austin hurler Brad Hower, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Nightmare a 4-3 lead.

"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Lewis. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."

The last-place Nightmare lifted their record to 35-36.
