The New York Nightmare took on the Austin Desperados at Dell Diamond.

New York Nightmare pitcher Howie Freel whisked his team past the Austin Desperados, 7-2. In 6.2 innings, Freel surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run.

New York used a well-timed hit by Nick Seago to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Nightmare ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Freel. "It sure beats the alternative."
