Eagles Get Extra-Inning, 3-2 Win
|
The Indianapolis Eagles and Charleston Sea Dogs rewarded fans hoping for a nail-biter.
In a low-scoring affair between the Indianapolis Eagles and the Charleston Sea Dogs, pitcher John Hennig was the difference between victory and defeat. The Indianapolis right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Eagles win. Indianapolis reliever Mike Canales got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Bob Baucke was tagged with the loss.
Indianapolis got a knockout punch from Matt Lepa. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
Hennig said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
The win has Indianapolis at 4-3.
