Philadelphia Sent Home with 3-1 Loss
|
New York turned a good effort from starter Allan Clemente into a win over the Philadelphia Marauders at Nightmare Stadium. The Nightmare won the game, 3-1. Clemente, the winner, moves to 11-13. He threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. Picking up the save was Jeff Groves. He's now 37 for 43 in save chances.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Nightmare had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when catcher Bobby Brenner hit a 2-run single. The single came off Alex Avila and made the score 2-0, Nightmare. Brenner was 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Brenner.
The Nightmare improved their record to 59-103 with the win over Philadelphia.
