The Philadelphia Marauders rode a solid performance from 36-year-old starting pitcher Carlos Mendez to a win, beating the New York Nightmare, 4-2, at Marauders Ballpark. The winning pitcher was Mendez, now 9-9. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Chris Jacoby nailed down his 36th save.
Philadelphia took a 3-2 lead on David Puente's 1st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Puente hit in the bottom of the seventh, left New York pitcher John Dollar visibly frustrated.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Philadelphia manager Danny Ordaz.
The Philadelphia winning streak has reached 3 games.
