Shiners Suffer 4-1 Road Loss
|
Sandusky Seagulls starter Steve Pikula pitched his team past the Charleston Shiners, 4-1. Pikula yielded 1 run over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 6. His record improves to 11-13. The last-place Seagulls improved to 69-93.
The Seagulls got a big at-bat from right fielder Zach Williard. For the game, Williard was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Sandusky a 2-0 lead.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Chad Hart.
