Dale Day was a major factor in the 5-2 San Diego win over Hollywood. The Fleet designated hitter was 2-5 with 2 home runs. The first-place Fleet have won 12 straight.

Bill Bridges had a big solo home run for the Fleet in the top of the sixth inning. With San Diego leading 3-2 and the bases empty, he got a cutter from Jared Robbins, who is tied for 10th in the NC in holds with 9, and swatted a home run to right. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Fleet ahead, 4-2.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Day.
