Andy Waring pitched well, but the Hollywood Stars still lost the game, falling, 4-2, to the San Diego Fleet at Hollywood Grounds. Justin Pierce earned save number 42 this season. The win gives San Diego a season record of 92-70.
Jacob Kennedy, who finished 4th in the NC in batting average with .291 in 2019, had a direct impact on the outcome. Kennedy contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put San Diego up, 3-2.
Hollywood manager Sean Simmers said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
