Scorpions Get Clutch Win Versus Tampa Bay
The Syracuse Scorpions topped the Tampa Bay Captains, 9-8, with catcher Ryan Mallory playing a big role. Mallory was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Scorpions in the win. The victory puts Syracuse at 58-104.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Mallory hit a fastball from Jesse Vecchio for a run-scoring single. The Scorpions, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Mallory. "You've got to get results."
