Heathens Make Gladiators 3-2 Losers
|
In a tight contest between the Halifax Heathens and the Phoenix Gladiators, Adam D'Alberto was the determining factor. The Halifax left-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. D'Alberto got the win, improving to 13-7. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Jeff Buck collected save number 46.
Halifax needed the clutch hitting of Bruce Richards to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Heathens on top, 3-2. For the game, Richards had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
After the game, Halifax manager David Morris applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
Halifax is now 104-57, 8½ games up in the American Conference South Division.
