Stars 3-1 Winners Versus San Francisco
|
James Dobyns pitched well, but the San Francisco Fire still lost the game, falling, 3-1, to the Hollywood Stars at Hollywood Grounds. Oscar Malave earned the win for Hollywood. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 16-3. Pat Eisen collected save number 31.
Roy Blaylock took San Francisco hurler James Dobyns deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Stars on top, 3-1. In all, Blaylock had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Blaylock told the Hollywood Daily. "Whatever it takes."
Hollywood is now 85-76, San Francisco 74-87.
