Nate Holyfield was terrific for the Fountain Hills 23ers in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Detroit Giants. His performance earned Holyfield rave reviews. Wade McGonigle converted his 14th save in 16 tries. The 23ers now have a record of 80-81 with the win over Detroit.

Joe Zerger had a direct impact on the outcome. Zerger contributed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put Fountain Hills up, 2-0.

"Nate gave us a heck of an effort," said Fountain Hills manager Efren Nieman.
