Scorpions Cut Down Bombardiers, 2-0
|
The Sonoma Scorpions claimed a close win over the Cincinnati Bombardiers, due in large part to Ken Springer. The Sonoma right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. Springer yielded no runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 8-4. Sonoma now has a record of 66-34 with the win.
The action was intense with one out in the top of the seventh inning. With a runner on 1st and Cincinnati trailing 1-0, Ken Springer had to face the 22-year old catcher Jon Owens, who was hoping to turn the game around. It was not to be, as Owens hit into a double play.
