The Maine Pines trumped the Syracuse Scorpions, 6-2, at Scorpion Stadium. Maine center fielder Jimmy Frew was terrific. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Ryan Henry, who threw 100 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 7 hits. At 45-24, the Pines are currently first in the National Conference North East Division.

With Maine leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Frew hit a 2-run single off Syracuse hurler Tyler Kraus. It was the 64th hit of the season for Frew and put his team ahead, 3-0.

Maine manager Chris Ware called it "a darn good win."
