Down to Defeat Goes Cincinnati, 5-1
|
The first-place Boston Whistlers took on the Cincinnati Royals in front of a spirited crowd.
Kory Pullar, who is tied for 7th in the AC in wins with 7, was terrific for the Boston Whistlers in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Cincinnati Royals. His performance earned Pullar rave reviews. Blake Bryant finished to wrap up his 7th save.
Tim Lotz, who finished 5th in the AC in RBI with 100 last year, chipped in a 2-run home run for Boston in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
Said Cincinnati manager Justin Aaron: "You just have to tip your cap sometimes."
The Whistlers improved their record to 36-33 with the win over Cincinnati.
