Trash Pandas Lose to Captains, 9-7
Toronto designated hitter Sam Salas had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Salas went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4, even as Tampa Bay beat the Trash Pandas, 9-7. Jesse Vecchio picked up the save, his 17th. The loss makes Toronto 34-35.

Tampa Bay got a big at-bat from Bartonville, Illinois native Paul Watson, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Captains ahead, 9-2.

"We got the victory," said Watson. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
