Firecats Edge Bombardiers, 6-5
|
The Cincinnati Bombardiers and Hialeah Firecats provided some drama for the home crowd.
Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Micah Clark, the Cincinnati Bombardiers lost to the Hialeah Firecats, 6-5. Clark was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Hialeah reliever Armando Salas picked up the win. Ryan Johnson took the loss for Cincinnati. John Wright picked up the save for Hialeah, his 1st of the year.
The Firecats beat the Bombardiers in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Juan Medrano produced in the top of the eighth. Batting against Ryan Johnson, Medrano gave his team the lead, 6-5, when he hit a run-scoring single.
Medrano told reporters after the game: "Took some doing, but we got it done."
The losses continue to add up for Cincinnati, having now dropped 8 straight.
