Cincinnati Drops Boston, 6-3
|
Cincinnati Royals starter Lee Morgan found his groove in his team's 6-3 win over the Boston Whistlers. Cincinnati goes to 35-34, Boston to 37-32.
Jerry Blake had a big 2-run home run for the Royals in the top of the fourth inning. With Cincinnati leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a cutter from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Cowels and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Royals on top, 3-0.
In comments to the Cincinnati Daily, Morgan admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
