Jesus Howell, who is tied for 10th in the W-AA in strikeouts with 102, was terrific for the Vail Tigercats in his team's 6-0 triumph over the Cornwall Royals. His performance earned Howell rave reviews. The second-place Royals dropped to 61-37.

Vail starter Jesus Howell pitched like a boss. The 6-foot-2 right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits over 8.1 innings.

"Jesus is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Vail manager Mike Alexander.
