Detroit Giants starter Beau Larson had all his pitches working at Ballpark of Detroit. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-2 Detroit win over the Austin Desperados. Detroit leads the American Conference North East Division by 4½ games.

Ben Barbone had a big bases-clearing double for the Giants in the bottom of the third inning. With Detroit leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a cutter from J.R. Mitchell, who finished 2nd in the NC in ERA with 2.06 in 2014, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 15th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Giants ahead, 6-0.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Austin manager Adam Ponder.
