Moore, Maroons Get Tidy 1-0 Win Over Austin
|
The Montreal Maroons went home winners at Expo 67 Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Mark Moore. Moore stifled the Austin Desperados, enabling Montreal to grab the 1-0 win. Elias Tapia earned save number 1 this season. At 34-34, the Maroons are currently third in the American Conference North East Division.
Moore's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 3 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 3 hits. Moore, who is tied for 3rd in the AC in wins with 8, goes to 8-3 on the year with 51 strikeouts.
Moore said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
