Lemus Now 4-2 After Beating Sea Turtles
|
Starting pitcher Rodrigo Lemus gave the San Diego Fleet a rock-solid effort. The Concord, North Carolina native helped his team defeat the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 2-1, at Leatherback Park. Justin Pierce was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 20 of 22 save opportunities. The win elevated the Fleet to 37-30.
Lemus lasted 8 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits. The San Diego left-hander, who led the NC in ERA with 2.30 last year, is now 4-2.
"Rodrigo was hitting his spots and everything had life," said San Diego manager Devon Randolph.
