The Detroit Giants trumped the Halifax Heathens, 8-2, at Ballpark of Detroit. Detroit catcher Cameron Witt was terrific. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. With this game in the books, Detroit is 33-34, Halifax 41-26.

A key moment came with no one out in the bottom of the third. That's when Witt hit a slider from Jack Ivory for a run-scoring single, putting Detroit up, 1-0.
