Trash Pandas Collect 6-5 Win Over Scorpions
The Toronto Trash Pandas did just enough to nip the Syracuse Scorpions, 6-5, in 12 innings. Toronto center fielder Heath Graves, in particular, had a standout performance. Tom Mott, who finished 4th in the NC in saves with 29 last year, was the winner in relief. His record is now 4-6. The losing pitcher was John Landgren. The Trash Pandas, at 33-33, sit in last place in the National Conference North East Division.

Graves had a game-changing double in the top of the 12th. On a 1-2 fastball from John Landgren, he banged a run-scoring double to left, giving the Trash Pandas a 6-5 lead. It was the 23rd double of the year for Graves.

"Exciting game to play in," said Graves. "Getting the win makes it even better."
