Josh Flaten pitched a gem to lead Maine to victory over the Cincinnati Royals, 7-1. At 31-34, the Pines are currently second in the National Conference North East Division.

Eric Hicks had a big 3-run home run for the Pines in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Maine leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Allen Anderson, who finished 4th in the NC in wins with 16 in 2019, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Pines on top, 5-0.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Brad McBride.
