Carolina Rallies for 6-1 Victory
|
The Carolina Crown picked up a win at Reedy River Stadium, knocking off the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 6-1. Starting pitcher Justin Berry was a big reason why. The Sea Turtles, at 76-84, have lost 5 straight games.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Todd Korn came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Daytona Beach pitcher Jim Sylvester, he hit a 2-0 sinker for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Carolina on top, 3-1.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Korn said.
