The Syracuse Scorpions took Matthew Rowlands's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Scorpion Stadium. The final score had Syracuse getting past the Whistlers, 4-3, in 10 innings. Rowlands over 8 innings allowed 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 11. Syracuse is now 26-39, while Boston is 40-25.

The Scorpions got a clutch hit from shortstop Javier Tarango. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Scorpions.

"I know we have our doubters," said Boston manager Mike Plocher. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
