Cornwall Beats Cincinnati, 8-6

Cornwall took on Cincinnati in front of a lively crowd.
Despite a fine performance by third baseman Jared Dawson, the Cincinnati Bombardiers lost to the Cornwall Royals, 8-6. Dawson went 2-3 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Antonio Martinez earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 2-1.
In the top of the third inning, the Royals grabbed the lead when Ross Myer rapped a two-out single. Cornwall was trailing 1-0, when Myer hit a 2-run single off Lance Goecker to put his team in front, 2-1.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Jon Williams said.
Cornwall bumps their record to 61-34 with the win.
